I am a life long artist and musician with an incredible love of drawing, painting and art history. Nature has always captivated me. Although I have resided in cities all my life, I have focused on the pull of nature—whether in our urban environment or less tamed spaces.
In capturing plant and flower images through all of their cycles— seeds, sprouts, shoots, flowers unfolding, blossoming, and withering—my work both celebrates and documents the beauty and resilience of this often unnoticed world around us. I am interested also in the visual rhythm of leaves unfolding on a stem, roots swirling in a jar.

I strive to capture this energy of germination/blossoming/ growth by lively calligraphic marks and brush strokes as well as bold color. Corita Kent once wrote: “The purpose of art is to alert people to things they might have missed.”
